Meet Our Team
Dr. Tarek Salman, MD
Dr. Tarek Salman is a highly experienced physician specializing in critical care and pediatric cardiac critical care. He has dedicated his career to treating critically ill children and providing life-saving interventions in intensive care settings. His training at some of the most prestigious institutions, including Mount Sinai Hospital and Texas Children's Hospital, has equipped him with advanced expertise in managing complex pediatric conditions.

Global Health & Community Service
Beyond his medical practice, Dr. Salman is deeply committed to global health initiatives. He has participated in numerous mission trips across Africa, where he has worked to improve healthcare access for children in underserved communities. Through his non-profit organization, Heart Hive, he has led efforts to:
● Fund and build water wells in impoverished areas. ● Provide clothing and essential resources to underserved children.
● Support community-driven projects focused on health and well-being.
Dr. Shawna
Sainnoval
Dr. Shawna Sainnoval is from California originally, where she worked for many years in a variety of roles while going to school. She has over 32 years of healthcare and business experience.
Dr. Sainnoval holds a nursing degree, master's degree in business and healthcare administration, and a Doctorate with distinction and honors in Business Administration and Healthcare Management & Leadership from CalU in Irvine, California. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Heart Hive Foundation!
Ali Shah, Senior Executive Manager
Ali Shah is a versatile product designer with experience across design consultancies and startups, contributing to products in logistics, healthcare, fintech, and transportation. He has led end-to-end design processes, from discovery and user research to prototyping and delivery, while working closely with cross-functional teams. Ali’s design work emphasizes inclusivity, scalability, and aligning user needs with business goals.
Ali holds a Bachelor of Design degree from York University. He is also a mentor and contributor to the design community through case studies and design thinking workshops.
Dr. Omar Ashour, MD
Dr. Omar Ashour is a highly accomplished neuroradiologist and general radiologist with a distinguished career in diagnostic imaging. He has held key roles in hospitals across the United States, including serving as a partner at Spectrum Healthcare Partners in Maine before transitioning to Radiology Partners – Singleton Radiology in Texas. His expertise spans neuroradiology, mammography, and general radiology, with a deep focus on improving diagnostic precision and patient care.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Dr. Ashour is deeply committed to philanthropy and global health efforts. He has been actively involved in charitable initiatives supporting underserved communities, leveraging his expertise to expand healthcare access.
Osama Abdelkarim, Engineering Manager
Osama has over 15 years of experience in technical leadership. He founded a startup and led its innovation and technical development for 10 years, resulting in software products used by millions worldwide. Currently, he holds an Engineering Manager role in a multinational company. Additionally, he served as a board member and treasurer at ASITA, a non-governmental organization dedicated to fostering the software industry. As treasurer, he was responsible for overseeing the financial affairs of the organization and its fund.
Nevena,
Executive Manager
With a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and over five years of experience in marketing, graphic design, and book publishing, Nevena brings a versatile skill set to creative and communications-focused projects. Holds two graphic design certificates and have hands-on experience in editing, formatting, and website design. Her work also includes writing multiple grant project aimed to improving health outcomes for African children, reflecting a strong commitment to impactful storytelling and social change.
